Mary Jo Bang
Mary Jo Bang’s poetry collections include, most recently, A Doll for Throwing (2017), The Last Two Seconds (2015), and Elegy (2009), which received the National Book Critics Circle Award. All three were published by Graywolf, which also published her translation of Dante’s Inferno, illustrated by Henrik Drescher, in 2012 and will release her translation of Purgatorio in 2021. Bang has received a Hodder Fellowship from Princeton University, as well as Guggenheim and Berlin Prize fellowships. She teaches creative writing at Washington University in St. Louis.
