Thoraya El-Rayyes

Thoraya El-Rayyes’s English-language translations of contemporary Arabic literature have won several awards and have appeared in publications including the Kenyon Review, Black Warrior Review, and World Literature Today. She is a writer, literary translator, and political sociologist living between London and Amman. Her first short story, “Joint Account,” was recently featured in The Common’s Spring 2020 issue.
