Mónica Lavín

Mónica Lavín is a Mexican writer who has written over twenty books, including the award-winning novels Cuando te hablen de amor (2017) and Yo, la peor (2009), both from Planeta. Her most recent novel, La ausencia (Planeta, 2025), is about great women writers of the American South. Her many honors include the Premio Iberoamericano de Novela Elena Poniatowska, the Premio Narrativa de Colima, and the Gilberto Owen Prize.
