Mark Mazullo

Mark Mazullo is a professor of music history and piano at Macalester College in Saint Paul, Minnesota. He is the author of Shostakovich’s Preludes and Fugues: Contexts, Style, Performance (Yale University Press, 2010). His writing appears in The Yale Review, The Musical Quarterly, Music & Literature, Tahoma Literary Review, and elsewhere. “Altitude Sickness” is part of a collection of essays in process.
