Arvind Krishna Mehrotra’s several books of poetry include the recent Selected Poems and Translations (NYRB, 2019), shortlisted for the Derek Walcott Prize for poetry, and Collected Poems: 1969–2014 (Penguin, 2014). His book of essays, letters, poem fragments, and sketches, Translating the Indian Past & Other Literary Histories (Permanent Black), was published in 2019; and his anthology and editorial projects include Collected Poems in English by Arun Kolatkar (Bloodaxe, 2010) and History of Indian Literature in English (Columbia University Press, 2003). He has translated Blue Is Like Blue: Stories by Vinod Kumar Shukla, with Sara Rai (Harper Perennial, 2019); Songs of Kabir (NYRB, 2012); and The Absent Traveller: Prakrit Love Poetry (Penguin Classics, 2008). He lives in Dehradun, India.
