Edith Södergran

Edith Södergran (1892–1923) was a Finnish-Swedish poet largely credited with introducing modernism to Swedish-language poetry. Her poetry was largely ridiculed by critics in her lifetime, and she died of chronic tuberculosis at thirty-one, receiving little positive recognition. Today, she is remembered as one of the greatest modern poets in Nordic literature.
