Maria Luisa Spaziani

Maria Luisa Spaziani (1922–2014) was an Italian poet, essayist, novelist, playwright, translator, and academic. Starting in 1954, Spaziani published nineteen full-length collections of poetry, along with several books of fiction and nonfiction. During her career she was awarded the Premio Carducci, Premio Tarquinia-Cardarelli, Premio Cittadella, and the Premio Viareggio, among many other honors.
