Kristal Brent Zook

Kristal Brent Zook is an award-winning journalist and author of six books, including The Girl in the Yellow Poncho (Duke University Press, 2023). Her work has appeared in The Washington Post, Essence, Vanity Fair, The New Yorker, The New York Times, and The Guardian, among other outlets. Her most recent book, Tulsa Speaks: A City Council, Reparations, and Race in America Today, is now out from Rutgers University Press. Zook is a professor of journalism at Hofstra University.
