Join The Georgia Review, The Institute for Women’s and Gender Studies, and the UGA Department of Dance for an evening with Carol Gilligan as she reads from her new book Solstice!
Carol Gilligan is an award-winning psychologist, best known for her 1982 classic, In a Different Voice. She is also a novelist; her new book Solstice traces the story of a long and complex marriage between a dancer and a journalist with tenderness, honesty, and the same keen observation of human psychology that Gilligan brought to her scholarly work. In Solstice, Gilligan also draws on her dance background to explore what the body can conceal and reveal.
Gilligan will read from Solstice, to be followed by a Q & A and signing. Books will be available for purchase on site from Rec Room Books. This event is free and open to the public.
