Rosario Castellanos (1925–1974) wrote prolifically about the conflict between Indigenous people and Spanish colonizers as well as the role of women in her home country of Mexico. Throughout her celebrated career, she wrote widely across genres: poetry, drama, short stories, novels, and a popular newspaper column. A significant amount of her work has been published posthumously.
