Úrsula Starke was born in San Bernardo, Chile, in 1983. A librarian with a background in art history, she published her first book of poetry, Obertura (Maipo Ediciones, 2001), when she was seventeen. In 2021, all four of her books of poetry were republished in a collected edition, Wisteria, by Ediciones La Cadera Rota.
