Fiston Mwanza Mujila is a poet, novelist, and playwright born in the Democratic Republic of Congo. His oeuvre available in English includes two novels, The Villains’ Dance (2024) and Tram 83 (2015), and two collections of poetry, The Slaughterhouse of Dreams (2025) and The River in the Belly (2021), all published by Deep Vellum. Among many other honors, his novels were shortlisted for the National Book Award and the International Booker Prize.
