Joshua Weiner is the author of three books of poetry, all from University of Chicago Press, and a book of reportage, Berlin Notebook: Where Are the Refugees? (LARB, 2016). His translation of Nelly Sachs’s Flight & Metamorphosis was shortlisted for the American Literary Translators Association’s 2023 National Translation Award. His translation (with Jay Hopler) of Rilke’s “Book of Pilgrimage” was chosen by Arthur Sze for Best Literary Translations 2026 (Deep Vellum). A recipient of Whiting, Guggenheim, and Rome Prize fellowships, he lives in Washington, D.C.
